I’ve Got Your Weekend Covered

I've got the golden ticket(s)!
I’ve got the golden ticket(s)!

For those of you, living on Maui, looking for something to do this weekend, may I suggest heading out to Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea for at least two of the three upcoming nights.

It is time to paint the town red green.

Friday night they have an evening of traditional Irish music lined up for your enjoyment, starring Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones.  About a year ago, Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones played at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (see my blog) and I was blown away.  Great music, one-of-a-kind storytelling, Derek Warfield is the quintessential entertainer and I cannot wait to listen to him again.  Tickets are $20 ahead of time, $25 at the door or they have a dinner and show package for $45, call (808) 874-1131 for any questions.

Believe me when I say that you will be in awe, seeing the passion a seventy year old historian/singer/storyteller/entertainer/rebel will share with you in such an intimate setting.  So get off your arse, come out and show your support for a unique opportunity to see a living legend and raise a pint!  Hell, you may even decide to roll down the hill too.

Saturday you can nurse your hangover, rest your weary vocal chords and if you rolled down the hill, you may have to wash the grass stains out of your clothes.

Sunday evening, Mulligans is hosting their annual tribute to Scotland’s favorite son with their Robbie Burns Night celebration (see my blog).  Admission is $20 in advance and after the scotch begins to flow and the haggis is presented, Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones will continue the celebration.  The Master of Ceremonies is the incomparable Cameron Keyes and the festivities are scheduled to start at six-thirty-ish.
