Today begins the first part of our adventure to Ireland.  We leave Maui in a few hours, fly over to O’ahu for an hour, then get on the long flight…Honolulu to New York City…non-stop.

We land at John F. Kennedy airport at 6AM tomorrow, where we will catch a shuttle to Grand Central Terminal and board a train to Poughkeepsie, New York.  Up in Poughkeepsie we will see some sights, take some pictures, and more importantly, spend time with friends and family.

This journey has been a long time in the dreaming process and it hasn’t quite sunk in yet that it will soon become a reality.

I may not update the blog while I’m away, but you never know, I might find a free moment here and there.

Until we meet again I’ll leave you with this Irish blessing that everyone seems to know at least one line from:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
