Absentee Ballet

It has been far too long since I have put pen to paper to write, or in this case, fingertip to keyboard.  The end of September through most of October has been frantic, so much so that I have not only failed to keep up with my blog, but I have neglected my poor camera and all the fun toys that come with it.

The main reason for me not writing is that Emily and I bought an amazing house upcountry on Maui, in the small cowboy town of Makawao (Makah-wow), which in Hawaiian translates to “forest edge.”  Of course, while we were in the process of closing on the house I took a trip to Zion National Park in Southern Utah to arrange a few things for our upcoming wedding in June.  It was not great timing, but everything worked out well and with very few hiccups.

So please excuse my absence from the internet and let me share with you a few pictures I took today in our backyard.  I will do my best in the future to share with you my homeowner adventures, but for today, enjoy the beauty found just footsteps outside our back door.

Thanks Lysa. Soon enough you will meet her, unless you want to bring the family out to Maui, then you can meet her sooner, we have room : )

Thanks Angelica, I hope you are settling in nicely in Houston, now I have two reasons to visit (the other being the Johnson Space Center).
