I had a lot of fun walking around the convention center area in Houston and finding street art to shoot while Emily was at her teaching conference. There wasn’t too much graffiti where I wandered, but there were plenty of fun murals and colorful works of art to be found. Even the electrical boxes got some artistic love from the community. As I wandered the city streets, I found the homeless population to be slightly more aggressive than in Hawai’i. There was never a point where I felt threatened, nor did I fear that my camera would be taken from me. I think the low point was when a couple approached us and immediately apologized for bothering us, and proceeded to assure us that they were unarmed before telling us their story. That was a new one for me.
